A monument to Stan & Elle Hilditch the people who first discovered iron ore in the Newman area, they where actually looking for manganese which they also discovered. It wasn't until 1969 that they started mining here.

Pretty rocks that we found at Kalgan Pool not far out of Newman, a nice place that the locals go for a swim when it's hot ie not at this time of the year.
