Sunrise of the third day no sleep ins for us, daylight at 5am and a chorus of birds to wake us.

The locals are only little thank heavens, the day we arrived back safe and sound they had on the news that a salty(crocodile) had been shot in the Ord holy moly what ever where we doing??? We only saw the one and he was a fresh water croc and fairly harmless.

As they say adventure before dementia but I'm not sure I think we are slightly crazy. Three days in a canoe was hard yakka but the views where amazing and all up I think we enjoyed ourselves, do it again might be a big ask at the moment???

Mirima National Park Walk-Kununarra

And after the walk your allowed to relax in the pool the only cool place around here I can tell you.

So here we are, we where talking to some other Tasmanians and they took a photo for us

So many wild flowers this year the rain has brought them on early unfortunately I don't know their names or rather I can't remember

They call this place the mini Bungle Bungles with good reason it looks very similar

Huge Boab tree they come in some many shapes

What a beautiful place and just a short walk from the caravan park but sooooo hot today just as well we went early.

Hall's Creek - Kununarra 21-05-10

All together again in Kununarra

Sunset over the camp ground at the back of the Hidden Valley caravan park a lot of young backpackers here all living in tents and working their way around Aust. interesting to talk to them.

The clouds where amazing and this is the back of Paul and Marilyn's van going along the highway the things you do to pass the time on the black stuff(bitumin)

After another wet night in Hall's Creek and a lovely meal at the Kimberley Hotel we headed out for Kununarra approx 370k's away. It"s give way to live stock around here.

Refueling ready for the next stretch, Kununarra here we come.

They always give you plenty of warning

Down town Hall's Creek and plenty of people are caught here and can't continue at least we got through before they closed the road.

The last section into Hall's Creek was very rough so we used the track off to the side still no sunshine but at least it had stopped raining.

This is about day three and as you can see it was starting to get interesting

Oops these things do happen and it always seems to be after the rain starts.

Tanami Rd

After four days in Alice we headed off into the next stage of our adventure the Tanami Desert Rd 1,000k's into Western Aust. Marilyn and Paul came with us

After four days in Alice we started out on the next stage of our adventure the Tanami Desert rd 1,000k's into Western Aust it took us six days and instead of dust and corrugations we had mud,mud and more mud but still it was great and we had a ball.

Trephina Gorge Alice Springs

This monolith is an aboriginal site but they don't really thing they had corroborees here as there is no permament water the significent of it has been lost over time but still a pretty impressive rock
