Inside the church at Kalumburu the service was amazing all the locals sang and interacted with each other and us it really was a lovely experience the kids are just so gorgeous.

View driving into Port Warrender little did we know that the road from here on in was really on a very rough track this is one of their clay/salt/mud flats where nothing much grows

Here they are the spectacular Mitchell Fall's we finally made it most amazing sight it was worth every hard yard as they say.

Creek crossing on our way into Mitchell Fall's it's a two and half hour walk longer if you take your time and enjoy the scenery which of-course we did.

I'm back we are actually in Broome not so the blog is well behind but the internet service up here is not so hot. These photos are from Mitchell Fall's area and then onto Kalumburu which is a mission run by the Benedict Monks and it is also an Aboriginal community. We loved both places and in-between we went to a more remote place called Port Warrender and stayed over-night it was a bit of an adventure getting in there the last eight kilometers took us over an hour so slow going very rough but great fun.

Boys getting water at the Mitchell Fall's camp ground, they ask you to get water here so that the river at this end stays clean for every-one. The swim hole was futher up and the falls themselves are a two hour walk from here.

Last leg into Mitchell Fall's camp ground oops this needs fixing, they had so much rain up here there roads where closed for three weeks when we where still in Kununnura.

King Edward River, wonderfull place to camp and swim could have stayed a week, no crocs and no bities(mosquitos or midgies)

Morning tea, just before King Edward River camp about half way between Drysdale Station and Mitchell Fall's camp, we all needed a cuppa badly at this stage.

So leaving El Questro we headed up the by now very dusty road calling into the Pentecost River where we camp for three days and Bill caught a baby barra. From there we went on up to Home Valley we didn't stay there though it looked really nice. Next came Ellenbrae where Paul had a problem with his van fridge that they fixed and then we where on our way, very nice scones and cream for morning tea again a lovely little place with lots of birds and a huge boab. This whole area abounds with boabs and they all have a character of their own so many shapes and sizes we have literally taken hundreds of photos of them. Our next stop was a freebie after the turn off for Drysdale Station which is where we planned on leaving the vans, the road at this stage took a turn for the worse and became very corrugated and not very friendly at all. We made a good camp on the banks of Plain Creek where we nearly lost Debbie and Monty's tent with a huge gust of wind every-one grabbed hold and all was well. Drysdale Station was a mile stone in itself and a lovely bush camping place all set up for travellers like us so many people doing this trek now, wonderfull hamburgers and chips what a treat and a central camp-fire that every-one can enjoy we meet Ron Moon the chap who writes all the touring books very interesting speaking with him and he told us about Port Warrender where we eventually went.

Coming into El Questro main camp we chose a river camp which was very secluded and just wonderfull

Leaving Kununnura eventually we headed for El Questro with a nice free camp along the way at King river at El Questro we walked Emma Gorge, visited Zebedee springs for a swim treked up Amalia gorge and nearly froze in the water there it was so cold, drove up the Saddleback ridge what a view river-side camping made it a very enjoyable visit.
